The Explorers Path.
‘We shall not cease from exploration, and at the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started. And know the place for the first time’
TS Eliot
The Explorers Path
Self-awareness is not a destination. It is a way of exploring.
The Explorers Path is a map of the territory we travel as we become more aware — of ourselves, our relationships, the living world around us, and ultimately the way we inhabit our lives.
The five points on the map give us a framework for the journey. They are not steps to complete and leave behind. They overlap, weave into one another and often bring us back to places we thought we had already explored.
The journey is circular rather than linear. We go out into exploration, and eventually discover that we are returning home to ourselves.
The Explorers Threshold
Choosing to become Aware
This is where the journey begins.
The Threshold is when we become curious about our own experience, rather than simply moving through life on autopilot. We have started to question, and our curiosity around what the answers could be has been aroused.
These initial first steps forward look at what to pack in our backpack as we begin to explore.
The Inner Explorer
Learning to be Aware of Yourself
We turn our attention towards ourselves, knowing that is okay, and we explore our thoughts, feelings, sensations, patterns, beliefs and ways of responding to life.
We begin to discover the landscape within us, not to fix anything or judge anything, just to understand more about the person within.
You are invited to become curious about yourself.
The Relational Explorer
Learning to be Aware through Others
We do not exist in isolation. Our relationships reveal parts of ourselves that we may never encounter alone.
Through connection, difference, conflict, love, boundaries and belonging, we discover how we meet the world — and how the world meets us.
You are invited to ask what your relationships can teach you about yourself?
The Wild Explorer
Learning to be Aware of the Living World
Our exploration expands beyond ourselves.
We begin to notice our relationship with nature, animals, places, the elements and the wider living world. From our immediate environment and those that live with us, to the earth and those that she takes care of. The more closely we pay attention, the more we discover that we are not separate from the world around us.
You are invited to remember that you are part of something larger.
Returning Home
Awareness becomes a Way of Life
And eventually, we return to where we began.
But we are not quite the same person who stepped through the Threshold.
Returning Home is not an ending. It is the point where Awareness and Connection begins to weave itself into everyday life — into how we think, feel, relate, choose, move and live.
You are invited to become curious about what it might mean to live this way?
